School gets kitted out for Padel

13 March 2022

Visiting students from Great Western Academy were given a surprise this week when they were presented with their very own PE padel kit.

Throughout this academic year our coaches have been delivering padel sessions to the North Swindon secondary school as part of their Enrichment programme which is designed to encourage pupils to try something new from a range of different activities and pastimes including; sports, arts, and academic & community interests.

The overall aim of the programme is to help the children make new friends, face new challenges and have fun! Padel has been a big hit and having their own equipment will enable the school to offer padel outside of the Enrichment sessions.

Emilie Lloyd GWA’s Enrichment co-ordinator said;

“The children have enjoyed learning padel tennis as part of their enrichment sessions at school and it’s a great opportunity for them to experience and play padel at the centre as part of the programme.

 The padel equipment we have received will be put to good use and allow us to offer padel to more students which is great for the school and padel.”
