Coffee, Cake and Padel – the perfect combination

11 November 2022

Health and Social Benefits of playing Padel

Female padel enthusiasts didn’t just enjoy a 90-minute game recently – they also tucked into homemade cake and coffee afterwards. The first-ever Bristol Padel4all coffee morning was held at the city’s Lockleaze Centre in Bonnington Walk. This is the latest of our Padel4all clubs to open in the UK, and the event took place on October 28th at 11 am.

A mix of padel abilities

The social event was organised by Roxy, the centre manager, while players Amanda and Maria provided the home baking. Roxy made sure there was a lively atmosphere by piping out loud music.

All female padel players were invited to turn up for the coffee morning, and many did with representation from long-time players and newbies combined. It cost £7.50 to turn up and tuck in.

Raising money for Macmillan Cancer Appeal

Roxy plans to hold the event monthly and is hoping other clubs will join her to host a joint Padel4all coffee morning, the funds from which will go towards the Macmillan Coffee Morning Appeal. The Appeal raises money for the charity’s support services, which provide physical, financial and emotional support for people with cancer and their families.

She said: “The event gave many of the new members a real chance to socialise with long-term players and ask the type of questions they never really have time to do during a game.”

“Everyone who came along really enjoyed themselves, to the extent it has spurred us on to making it a regular, monthly meet-up.”
