Our Secret Is Revealed
9 February 2022
You may have felt the competitive spirit over the weekend as players competed for the first time in the ladies only ‘Victorious Secret’ event. The 2hour tournament has been created to run alongside ‘The Ball of Duty’ event which has become a firm favourite with the men since it started at the end of last year.
The format for each event is the same with players entering as singles before being drawn to play with a partner at random. Teams then play in a series of quick-fire matches with the winners earning the right to be scribed on to the roll-of-honor and to defend their title at the next tournament as the reigning champions.
The victorious pair on Saturday were Sylvie Darrieumerlou and Laura Pedre who defeated Donna Collins and Wendy Dwight in the final; congratulations ladies. Well done also to Jack Notton and Charlie Holdsworth who retained their Ball of Duty title on the Sunday.
Operations Manager, Ricardo Paredes said;
“The Ball of Duty has been growing in popularity with every round and I wanted to do something similar for the ladies. Some of our ladies are really competitive and I wasn’t surprised to see the level of interest, we already have over 40 female players on the VS What’s App group.
The tournaments are here to stay for sure. We will continue to offer mixed team competition in the box leagues but running separate mens and ladies competitions, which are fun and have a short timed format, will encourage more people to enter”
The next round of the Ball of Duty is scheduled to take place on Sunday 20th February with the follow-up Victorious Secret event planned for Saturday 5th March. If you would like to take part or need more information, then please contact us.
