Full Steam ahead for Padel in Bristol
12 August 2021
We are delighted to announce that we will soon be bringing padel to Bristol.
Plans for our third Padel4all centre were given full planning approval by Bristol City Council earlier this month and we are now busy working with our consultants and partners to enable the construction works.
The courts will be located at the Lockleaze Sports Centre which was created in 2018. The padel centre is part of an exciting next phase of development for the site which also includes a new all-weather hockey pitch and spectator area, adding to the flood-lit 4G football and rugby pitches.
Guy Hollis, General Manager at LSC said;
“We are delighted to be in partnership with Padel4all in offering our community a chance to play this innovative and inclusive sport. Enquiries have started coming in already, from experienced Padel players to people desperate to try it for the first time.
At LSC we are always looking to diversify our activities and engage with different sections of the community. I love that you can come and play padel in pairs or smaller groups which differs from our current sports.
It is an exciting time for the community as in addition to the padel courts and hockey pitch we have further plans to include a gym, classrooms and a sports hall.”
Once built the Lockleaze centre will be the biggest Padel4all venue; initially offering 4-covered flood-lit padel courts and a large central reception area. Members and players will also have full use of the adjacent LSC changing and hospitality facilities, including the fantastic ‘Terrace Bar’.
Whilst the City waits for the padel courts to open, Bristol padel lovers will be able to make the short trip along the M4 to Padel4all Basset Down. The centre, which is just two mins from J16 of the M4 on the edge of Swindon, will be opening next month with advance court bookings available from the beginning of September.
